She is 89 and tells me on the phone every week, “I never planned to live this long. I keep telling Jesus that I am ready to go but he is not listening! It is hard when you out live all of your friends and have to try to break into the younger crowd. It reminds me of junior high when we were all trying so hard to fit in and checking out 404 .

November 30, 2008 on 8:08 pm | In Uncategorized | Comments OffHigh school sectional swimming finals were held this week and my son was trying to convince me why he needed a $180 Fastskin FSII competition long swimsuit, as worn by Michael Phelps in the Olympics. Ok, I admit it; I finally broke down and got it for him. And wouldnt you know, he swam the 100 yard butterfly half a second faster than he ever had before and qualified for State. I’m not sure that this suit made him swim faster but he thinks it did which is all that matters. Just like 404, it makes all the difference.
